Abstract:
This is a follow-up, in a way, to my seminar earlier on "How to Write a Scientific Paper Well?" and is primarily addressed to young scientists (graduate students and postdoctoral fellows).
I will discuss a few elements in a scientific presentation that are increasingly being recognized as effective in putting one's point across and in maintaining the attention of the audience. But, mostly I will talk about things that I have learnt from my own experience in giving scientific talks over the years.
Biography:
Umesh Garg received degrees in physics from the UBirla Institute of Technology & Science and a Ph.D from State University of New York at Stony Brook. He was a professor at University of Notre Dame since 2002. Umesh. Garg's current research interests include experimental investigation of compressional-mode giant resonances and exotic quantal rotation in nuclei.
