摘要：
Nuclear structure data reveal a rich variety of phenomena characterizing atomic nuclei. The rare isotope facilities are providing unique opportunities for deepening our understanding of nuclear structure, in particular, for the neutron-rich nuclei. In this talk, I will discuss opportunities and challenges on nuclear structure theory raised by the newly observed phenomena and data with the rare isotope facilities. In particular, the limits of nuclear existence, nuclear spectroscopies, the large spatial extension in space, the novel shapes, and the magic numbers and shell evolutions will be discussed.
