Abstract:
The Ion Guide Isotope Separator On-Line (IGISOL) principle has been first developed in the early 1980’s. With major upgrades it is now a full-fledged ISOL facility carrying out research on proton- and neutron-rich exotic nuclei across the nuclear chart. Complementary techniques relying on decay spectroscopy, ion traps and laser spectroscopy offer a rich data source in studies of nuclear structure, nuclear astrophysics and applications in weak interaction physics and nuclear energy. Some recent highlights will be discussed.
