摘要：The?exploration?of?the?High?Energy?frontier?intensifies?at?the?LHC’s?Run-2,?where?a?large?dataset?of?proton-proton?collisions?at?centre-of-mass?energy?of?13TeV?is?accumulating.?The?Higgs?boson,?discovered?at?LHC’s?Run-1,?is?now?providing?a?new?window?for?exploring?our?universe?in?search?for?new?physics?beyond?the?Standard?Model?of?Particle?Physics,?and?Higgs?pair?production?is?one?such?process,?arguably?one?of?the?most?sensitive?ones?probing?for?new?physics.?I?will?review?the?latest?results?from?the?ATLAS?search?for?Higgs?pair?production?and?their?implications/interpretations,?and?will?discuss?the?future?prospects?for?this?research?area.
Professor?Nikos?Konstantinidis简历：
NK?is?Professor?of?Particle?Physics?at?UCL.?Since?he?joined?UCL?in?2002,?his?research?has focused on the ATLAS experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider. ?He?is?currently?the?deputy?director?of?the?UCL?Particle?Physics?group?(comprising?~80?academic,?research,?technical?staff?and?PhD?students),?Head?of?the?UCL?ATLAS?team?and?PI?of?ATLAS-UK, the largest UK research team?with nearly?300?members?from?15?institutes. ?He?has?made?strong?contributions?to?the?ATLAS?Trigger?system?and?the?R&D?for?its?upgrades?for?the?high?luminosity?LHC?(HL-LHC)?project?that?will?run ?between?2026?and?the?late?2030s and?is?the?ATLAS?coordinator?of?the?Level-1?Track?Trigger?R&D?working?group. ?He?has?also?pioneered?the?search?for?new?physics?via?Higgs?boson?pair?production?at?the?LHC.
Since?April?2015,?NK?is?the?Vice-Dean?International?for?the?UCL?Faculty?of?Mathematical?and?Physical?Sciences?(MAPS), ?and?member?of?UCL’s?North?America?Steering?Committee.
